Psychotherapy is an exploratory, transformational and educational experience that takes place within a therapeutic relationship. Talking with a trained Psychologist in a contained space allows you to explore and reflect on experiences, thoughts, emotions, relationship dynamics, personality and past events, in order to promote insight and self-awareness. Psychotherapy helps individuals manage their symptoms better and function at their best in everyday life. Sometimes psychotherapy alone may be the best treatment for a person, depending on the problem/condition and its severity. At other times, psychotherapy is combined with medical intervention and management. Psychologists work with an individual or families to devise an appropriate treatment plan.
